The future guardians of nature
Children today have so many activities and access to modern technology. They are forgetting their roots. So, a break from a daily routine life and walk on the grass and under the canopy of trees is indispensable to embrace the green and to connect with the multitude of delights offered by nature. ‘We Initiate Socio-ecological Harmony Foundation’ and Priyanka Chatterjee, a theatre professional and a budding story teller of ‘Wild Strawberry’ wanted to take a walk on nature’s lap amidst the concrete jungle along with young enthusiasts and we did it! It was pre-Christmas nature walk. Kids gathered at Rabindra Sarovar lake to take a walk where they were introduced to urban wildlife. They learnt to identify birds, trees, understood the importance of nature around us and actively participated in Priyanka’s unique story-telling session. We felt content to see the happy faces around us – the future guardians of nature.
